Propaganda as Thick as an Arsonist's Haze
If omission is a form of lying, what recourse do we have when policy is based on the omission of specific facts?
If it appears as though the local media is looking to rekindle the fearful sentiment they laid out during the Canadian Wildfires of 2023, your assessment would be correct. Since they lack imagination and prey upon overburdened minds, one of the most powerful defenses against the disinformation crafted by our mainstream narrative builders is a good memory.
Yesterday, Cleveland.com forecasted another grim air quality outlook, stemming from a set of 2 dozen wildfires that have been ripping across the Canadian wilderness and billowing smoke along our northern border. The other commonality between the distant and most recent reporting of the Canadian wildfires is the lack of a desire to investigate what is actually causing them. Why does no one in the local media or government seem the slightest bit interested that carelessness, poor forest management, lack of maintenance and arson are on record as being the cause for many of the Canadian Wildfires of 2023?
Let’s take a short journey back to the Summer of 2023, nearly two years to the day. On June 8th, 2023 local media was reeling with reports of hazy, smoke-filled skies in Cleveland. The most prolific of which; Cleveland.com was so intent on fear mongering Northeast Ohioans, that they slyly slipped in a picture of a dusky New York City steeped in wildfire smoke, alongside a story and headline telling Ohioans to stay indoors due an air quality advisory from the EPA. It seemed as though reality was not quite frightening enough to adequately terrify the public.
The obsession over Cleveland air quality was at the top of the news for over 3 weeks until the fog over the city lifted. Coincidently, during these same 3 weeks, our region’s Metropolitan Planning Organization: NOACA (Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency) was conducting a series of public engagement sessions around their Climate Action Plan. NOACA who is federally mandated to do transportation planning within the 5 county region of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina, will often refer to themselves as being the party recognized or responsible for Air and Water Quality. Through what means they are recognized or responsible, I have never gotten a straight answer. Yet, this hasn’t stopped them from adopting a goal to reduce our Greenhouse Gas Emissions by over 60% by the year 2030.
During these public engagement sessions, participants were surveyed about whether or not they had noticed any changes in the air quality of late. Even the most staunch Climate Change critic had to admit that there was indeed a haze lingering over the summer sky, thus, putting him in the camp of Gaia worshipping Man-made Climate Alarmists. Below is a survey handed out at the meeting(because I was aware of their survey manipulation, I answered the question with a NO.) My constant criticisms of NOACA surveys being crafted in a manner to achieve a desired outcome, or manufactured consent were born during these sessions. Through loaded, ranked and multiple choice questions, NOACA surveys ensure that one cannot be counted without supporting their objective, in this case: that man-made Climate Change was not only real, but that the participant supported intervention from outside agencies to correct it.
During the question and answer portion of these events, I would oftentimes mention the fact that carelessness, poor forestry management, lack of maintenance and arson were at the crux of many of the fires happening across the world. My points fell on deaf ears. In spite of a majority of attendees always expressing their criticisms of NOACA’s claims of Man-made Climate Change, those rebukes were never registered in the final reports. This forced me to compile a series of papers and articles (some from the New York Times of all places,) pinning the blame directly alongside my claims.
June 2023 Forest and Fire Management in BC
“The way forests and fire have been managed in BC over the last 100 years has increased the scale and intensity of current wildfires and decreased landscape resilience. In 2017, 2018, and 2021, BC experienced its 3 largest wildfire seasons in 102 years of recorded fire, climate, and weather history, affecting 3.4 million hectares of land. If the way forests and fire are managed doesn’t change, BC will face many more catastrophic wildfire seasons.”
June 8th, 2023 We Suffer Too Many Fools Who Start Wildfires
“While many of the current fires in Canada were caused by lightning that landed on dry forests, here in the States, lightning is rarely the culprit. An astonishing 80 percent are caused by human carelessness.”
Sept. 15, 2023 We Thought We Were Saving the Planet but We Were Planting a Time Bomb
This article lays out the rite of passage embraced by many Canadian university students who spent their summers replanting forests of logged trees in Northern Ontario. Earning 9-11 cents a tree, young, eager workers could plant over a thousand trees a day, six feet apart in neat rows. The trees of choice: Black Spruce, were planted as a monoculture and have made wildfires more likely and much worse when they occur. They were referred to by local firefighters as Gasoline on a Stick.
January 16th, 2024 Canadian Man Who Claimed Wildfires Were a Federal Conspiracy Admits Arson
“A Canadian man who claimed forest fires were the result of a government conspiracy has pleaded guilty to lighting more than a dozen blazes during the country’s record-breaking wildfire season, as nearly 100 fires persist in drought-stricken regions.”
If you are of the mindset that the media and local leadership are simply lazy in their desire to promote factual evidence, I present to you the end game for all of the false narrative building that has been happening since Covid.
As we await NOACA’s Climate Action Plan, we can take a glimpse at the City of Cleveland’s Climate Action Plan that was released on Earth Day, April 22nd, 2025, and draw similar conclusions from what to expect across the 5 County Region.
Wildfires in general are referenced 5 times in Cleveland Climate Action Plan, with specific reference to the Canadian Wildfires twice. Understand that visible and physical correlations must be created between Cleveland and Climate Change because the shifts these plans promise to deliver on a societal level(from employment, to housing, to transit, to the economy) will be so drastic the Powers That Be cannot afford to have the public freely questioning their basis.
This is just one of the many lies that exist in plain sight and often go unchallenged, only to come back around to serve as justification for unconstitutional, liberty stealing policies. Please continue to pay attention and do your duty in calling out harmful falsehoods of all shapes and sizes. Apathy is our greatest enemy, resist the desire to remain in comfort.
Most importantly: Live Not By Lies
Excellent article and rebuttal.
Informative and concerning. So many of these topics seem to fly under the radar until they don’t. Then the become scary and you wish you’d have gotten involved much earlier…..
